El video «Save the World» dirigido por Alexander Ramírez y Joel Calderón, es la primera pieza hecha en Venezuela que gana un premio en la competición de cortometrajes MY RØDE REEL
 
El pasado 27 de julio, el jurado de la competencia, declaró el video «Save the World» como ganador en la categoría BEST TVC (Mejor comercial de televisión) de la prestigiosa competencia MY RØDE REEL 2017 llevada a cabo en Australia anualmente.
 
El comercial, dirigido por los venezolanos Alexander Ramírez y Joel Calderón, participó junto a más de 1.520 cortometrajes de más de 80 países, catalogándose así como los primeros venezolanos en ser premiados en dicha competencia.
 
Para participar en la categoría de comerciales algunos de los requisitos exigidos fueron: realizar un comercial que promocionara la marca RØDE Microphones, la utilización de equipos RØDE en la grabación (dejando constancia en el tras cámara) y que tuviera una duración máxima de 30 segundos; cumpliendo los requisitos estos venezolanos realizaron un comercial donde se puede ver como Batman construye su propia máscara y utiliza un micrófono de la mencionada marca para crear la característica voz grave del hombre murciélago.
 
Este comercial contó con un excelente equipo de trabajo, la dirección de fotografía estuvo a cargo de Fabio Fuenmayor, la música original y el diseño de sonido por Daniel Alejandro Zambrano, y la máscara de Batman fue una pieza a medida realizada por el artista plástico Iván Salgrero, todos venezolanos.
 
MY RØDE REEL Short Film Competition es una competencia abierta a participantes de todo el mundo. Como puede leerse en su sitio web (http://es.rode.com/blog/all/my-rode-reel-2017) tras cuatro años consecutivos, ha recibido más de 8.000 cortometrajes provenientes de 89 países, convirtiéndose no sólo en una de las competencias de cortometrajes más grandes del mundo, sino que también se ha establecido a sí misma como referente dentro de la comunidad cinematográfica mundial.
 
Aunque en ediciones anteriores ya se habían presentado piezas audiovisuales provenientes de Venezuela, es la primera vez que un cortometraje venezolano resulta ganador en una de las categorías de la competencia.
